Release Date for New Jets Album "Do Ya"

Get ready for one of the best rock albums to come out of the Australian music industry in recent years…
After an extended hiatus between albums, one of the country’s most respected rock bands, The Screaming Jets, are back and they’re bringing with them their first studio release in eight years – and without doubt, their best album yet.
As “Do Ya” hits the stores on 11 October and the first single of the same name smashes the airwaves, fans and music-lovers new to the Jets rockin’ style are in for a real treat.
When The Screaming Jets took an indefinite break after their last studio album ‘Scam’ in 2000, fans feared they’ve never get a chance to hear any new material from one of the hardest rockin’ bands in the business. It only took four years before they hit the road again together, but a new full-length album was a little longer coming. Like all bands worth their salt, The Screaming Jets weren’t ready to release just any album, it had to be something they were proud of and consequently a lot of blood, sweat and tears went into honing the songs that now make up “Do Ya”.
Front man Dave Gleeson says the record is the epitome of what Australian rock is all about. Every aspect of the album was taken from a ‘rock’ direction and the result is tight and clean with a good dose of driving guitars and rockin’ percussion. “Do Ya” is the album The Screaming Jets were always destined to make. Like all of the classic albums that make up the band’s back catalogue, “Do Ya” features Dave Gleeson’s killer vocals and that core of true blue rock. Regardless of the different styles tackled on the album, from jazz to blues influenced tracks, when it boils down to it, the record is really just about rock.
“When we went into the studio to record this album, we said ‘no matter what style we tackle, let’s remember that we are a rock band doing different styles,” Dave says. “If we are doing jazz, we are doing jazz but we are doing it from a rock band’s perspective. And I think, coming out and listening to all the songs, which have different influences and different flavours, at the end, it is still a rock album done by a rock band.”
Similarly, the title track and first single from the album is a perfect representation of the record – gutsy and ballsy rock. Dave says when it came to picking the first single, the band didn’t want to come out with a soft release – the single, after so many years hiatus, had to say something true about The Screaming Jets, and with a band whose name is synonymous with rock, “Do Ya” was an ideal selection.
“We thought, let’s not second guess anything, The Screaming Jets are a rock band, and this is a fuck’n rock song, so lets go with that,” he says. Let’s give people an indication of what the band is all about and what the album is all about.”
The album has already impressed some of the biggest names in the international music scene, although this isn’t surprising considering US producer Stevie Salas (Daughtry) and Grammy nominated and Juno Award winning engineer producer Brandon Frieson have a hand in the record. This, the seventh studio album for The Screaming Jets, also features special guest Matt Sorum (Guns n Roses) on percussion. With these three award winners’ contribution to the release, the Jets’ album is certainly going to turn some heads

well thats some of the best shit we've heard here at bobs country bunker in quite a while.i just hope that jets management wont let this opportunity go to waste.a couple of years ago i poured my heart and soul into some radio competitions and helping organise a gig at the cambrige hotel in newie in an effort to get my favourite band the publicity they deserve.yet when i call NEWFM and ask them to play the new jets stuff they tell me they have never heard of it...to whoever is charged with promoting and marketing this band.. PULL YOUR FUCKING FINGER OUT.it would seem that i have 2 german shepards who have more interest in seeing this band go places than you.
and another thing, if you guys don't release 'supersize' as your next single i reckon your nucking futs!!! its the poo,but then again so is '141'.lastly, to Scotty,i reckon it would take a lot of guts to step up and do what you have done and your doing a damn fine job of it,i'll be at the doylson rsl on the 28th and if we run into each other the 1st,2nd and 3rd beers are on me!
